Sarah Manning

Sarah is a Senior Associate Solicitor and accredited mediator at Consilia Legal and is highly experienced having previously worked in family law for over 13 years.

Sarah specialises in financial matters from mid to high net worth clients in both her capacity as a mediator and solicitor. Sarah has a wealth of experience dealing with overseas financial matters, complex pensions and business owners. Sarah has had cases where her clients own assets in the UK and abroad and she has had to liaise with legal advisers overseas.

Sarah also has experience dealing with complex Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements. Sarah had a recent matter, which addressed an American trust fund worth over 33.5 million dollars, which her client was a beneficiary of. Sarah also has experience dealing with Farmland where families wish to protect the Farm in the event of divorce.

Sarah deals with a breadth of matters that include straight-forward divorces and fixed fee consent orders to matters involving multi million-pound assets. Within the team Sarah is assisted by Zara Rafiq, Trainee Solicitor and Nikol Loutchanska, newly qualified solicitor and is able to offer blended fees to ensure that we are able to provide the possible service for an affordable fee. It also ensures that there is always someone on hand that can provide an update when or if I am unavailable as we work closely on matters. Customer service is very important to Sarah and Consilia. Sarah ensures that all calls and/or emails are responded to on the same day. Sarah aims to be transparent with clients in regard to the legal fees that are likely to be incurred and in certain circumstances; she is able to agree a fixed fee for the work to be carried out.

Sarah offers a free initial consultation to all new clients as Sarah believes it is important that both the legal advisor and the client have a good rapport with one another and that the client is both relaxed and has confidence in the advice provided before they proceed. Sarah is a member of Resolution, which is an organisation set up for professionals who believe in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters. Sarah prides herself on the service she delivers and ensures she has a good rapport with her clients whilst remaining focused on achieving the best possible outcome.

Sarah has good connections with experts in the local area such as forensic accountants, financial advisers, property experts and pension experts to ensure that the client receives the best possible service and advice. Sarah also has good connections with local barristers should the need arise for expert advice.

As well as financial matters, Sarah deals with private children matters. Sarah prides herself on dealing with matters amicably whilst ensuring that any children’s’ needs are at the forefront of any discussions and arrangements reached. In some instances, Court is necessary and Sarah will do everything she can to keep matters constructive and non-confrontational whilst achieving the best possible result for her client. Sarah has recent experience of dealing with complex children matters that include Finding of Fact hearings and allegations of historic parental alienation. From Sarah’s experience as a mediator, she is able to put forward suggestions to improve communication that are commonly explored within mediation but could equally be beneficial to her legal clients.

Meetings can take place either face to face, over the phone, by email or through Skype/Zoom. Depending on each person’s personal circumstances, Sarah will try to accommodate the client to ensure that regular discussions can take place to progress matters.

“As a mediator, I really appreciate the work Consila is doing to draw together similar minded lawyers and mediators to facilitate a local, reflective learning community.  The ADR conference they facilitated in Autumn 2018 was highly relevant to practice, with expert and diverse speakers but also providing the opportunity for lots of discussion and networking. Consilia are now running more regular ADR networking events which are proving to be a great success.  Laura and Sarah are generous with their time, energy and other resources to put on these high-quality training and networking events.” Anna Vollans, Vollans Mediation
