The Legal 500 reported that “Consilia Legal has quickly cemented its reputation as ‘dominant in the field of mediation in Leeds’, with many clients viewing it as their ‘first choice for mediators’…The firm’s holistic approach to mediation is singled out, as is its level of service, which ‘regularly goes over and above that which is expected’.”
Laura has been shortlisted for Partner of the Year through the Yorkshire legal Awards 2018 and the winner will be announced on the 11th October 2018. Consilia Legal has also been shortlisted for the small business of the year award, through Laura’s hard work and dedication to the company.
There have been many challenges faced by mediation services over the last 4 years due to cuts to legal aid and individuals struggling to find access to justice, something which Laura discussed with Modern Law Magazine. As a family mediator, Laura has fought very hard to bring mediation to the forefront of the agenda from training local magistrates, hosting seminars for family practitioners, promoting mediation in written publications such as the law gazette and local radio. Laura also created a dedicated website to provide the public with as much information as possible about mediation (www.consiliamediation.co.uk).
